Founder & executive director | email debby >
Debby has been involved in the work of birth and supporting families for almost three decades. Her beginnings in birth work include working with Hennepin County Medical Center Doula Program and with the Anoka County Healthy Start Program through Unity Hospital. Debby also served as one of the Doula Liaisons for the Unity Program.
Trained by the world-renowned Gail Tully, Debby has attended over 300 births.
In addition to launching Everyday Miracles in 2003, she is also one of the founding members of The Childbirth Collective, a group credited with helping create our vibrant Twin Cities birth community, and a metro area with the highest doula-attended birth rates in the United States.
Debby's efforts in the local birth community and beyond are widely praised by families, providers and birth workers alike. Recently named as one as one of the Childbirth Collective’s Shining Stars, she was awarded this honor for her ongoing, tireless and compassionate work on behalf of families and doulas.
Debby is the mother of two children, Melissa and Abby, and grandmother to Carly and Casey. In her own words,“As long as I can remember it has been my dream to be part of birth. I consider it to be an honor to be present at the birth of a new being and I treat each birth with that honor and respect. Through Everyday Miracles, I am continually reminded of why we do this work. Amazing things can happen when we support one another and show each other kindness. It is my hope that every birth is full of joy, and that each child is brought into this world in a loving, gentle, peaceful way. Peace on earth begins at birth.”
