Claudia

Class & Education Coordinator |  EMAIL Claudia >

My name is Claudia and I am a birth doula (CBI) and a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor (UCSD). I started working with Everyday Miracles almost immediately after my doula training in 2015. Currently I serve as a doula in our on-call partnership at HCMC, as a lactation educator, and as the Education Coordinator.  I became drawn to birth work after the birth of my second child. My husband and I had a doula at all three of our births and found their help and support invaluable. Birth is such an important and transformative experience and I want to help every mom to experience that in the most positive way for them. We, as humans, we are not meant to go through life alone. Pregnancy, birth, parenting, feeding…those are areas in particular with which we need all the support. My roles all center around that idea. Where can we find the support necessary to be our best selves, as individuals and as parents? I love bearing witness to, and reminding parents of, their strength as they move through the changes that a baby brings. Each person's definition of a successful and happy birth is different. I feel my role as a doula and educator is to support parents in finding the information, education, and support to birth and feed their babies the way they want to; the way that works for their lives. I live with my husband and our three boys in Bloomington. In my spare moments, I enjoy reading, gardening, sporadic fabric and yarn projects, cooking, playing with my kids, and spending time with my wonderful husband.
