DULUTH BIRTH DOULAS

Amber

I'm all about natural healing and listening to our bodies and being a strong advocate and voice for those who need.

Aaniin, my name is, Amber, and I am a mother to three beautiful daughters, and a "extra-mom" to a teenage son, two adult daughters, plus two grandsons. I started learning about birthwork around 13 years ago after the natural birth of my second daughter. I want to be the support I wish I had/needed in the room during delivery and throughout the journey of pregnancy. I'm all about natural healing and listening to our bodies and being a strong advocate and voice for those who need. I'm excited to walk this journey with you!

Amethyst

I thrive in my ability to meet people where they are at and discuss all aspects of birth.

Since 2011 I have been studying holistic health and herbalism. In 2016 something clicked and my passion for supporting women and families began. Eager to learn, I finished my first doula training that August. Shortly after I gave birth to my daughter in 2017. My birth was hard, but so transformative for me. I knew deep inside my bones that supporting families through this transitional phase of life is something I was called to do.
With my Associates Degree in Integrative Health I specialize in holistic modalities to support the birthing family.I am currently seeking my License in Massage Therapy and plan to continue my holistic medicine education as I feel called.
As a birth and postpartum doula I work with families in whatever ways they need. I thrive in my ability to meet people where they are at and discuss all aspects of birth. I believe every mother deserves their voice to be heard when they are bringing their child into this world.

In my free time I enjoy being with my family, playing outside, sewing patchwork clothing, snowboarding, eating and my new love of archery.

Bailey

My goal as your doula is to make you feel educated, encouraged and cared for.

Hi, I'm Bailey, a Certified Doula and trained Certified Lactation Consultant! I'm also a loss and earth-side mama who believes in changing our society's view on birth and parenthood to make it less overwhelming and more loving. My journey to motherhood started with the loss of our daughter in 2022, making me realize even more how I desired to be a doula and walk with families. In 2023 I had my son via cesarean, and in 2026 welcomed my daughter via HBAC (home birth after cesarean)! In these experiences, I've learned how special every birth is.

My goal as your doula is to make you feel educated, encouraged and cared for. Birth is unlike anything else in life, becoming a sacred memory, which I don't take lightly as someone there to witness that miracle. I am passionate about pregnancy and lactation education and hope to help you make the best decisions to pursue the pregnancy/birth/postpartum you and your family desire. I also love perinatal nutrition and adore talking to families about their nutritional desires, if requested.

It is truly my hope to connect deeply and to give unique support based on the wants and goals of each family I work with! You deserve to feel nurtured during this time!

Callie

I love combining evidence-based education with compassionate, down-to-earth support so you can feel empowered to make the choices that are right for you.

Hi, I’m Callie — birth nerd, doula, mom of three girls [Eilee (6), Oaklee & Blayke (3)], certified lactation consultant, and your biggest hype woman through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I’m passionate about helping families feel informed, supported, and confident as they navigate one of life’s biggest transitions.

With a background in maternal-child health, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through pregnancy, infant feeding, postpartum adjustment, and early parenting in both clinical and community-based settings. A huge part of my work is advocating for equitable, respectful care and helping improve the birth and postpartum experiences our BIPOC communities receive. I love combining evidence-based education with compassionate, down-to-earth support so you can feel empowered to make the choices that are right for you.

Whether we’re talking comfort measures, birth preferences, newborn feeding, or just surviving the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy, I’m here to support you without judgment. Birth can be unpredictable, powerful, messy, beautiful — and you don’t have to do it alone.

Kieona

Being I am a woman of color, I wanted to be able to be that person who someone can relate to, who has had or experienced certain life situations like me.

My names Kieona and I have always had passion for taking care of others from a young age. I was a CNA for 13 years working with the elder population who had Alzheimers and Dementia and as a Certified Medical Assistant in Internal Medicine at the local hospital for 5 years. My latest career pivot was geared more toward wholeness and wellness and during the last 3 years I have been working as a massage therapist and holistic healer. I am also currently in nursing school.

I became a Doula at the end of 2022, a few years after having my youngest child. My own birth experience is what made understand and realizing that being able to have someone be there for you present, aware and willing to support your wishes during a vulnerable time while in labor is key. Another big deciding factors was that being I am a woman of color, I wanted to be able to be that person who someone can relate to, who has had or experienced certain life situations like me. Because representation in any situation especially in healthcare is extremely important when there can be health disparities and times where you feel as if you are not being heard.

Working with expecting moms and families brings so much joy to my soul because I know that I get to help with bringing a precious soul into this world and I look forward to working with new clients.

Liza

She hopes with this path in life to be able to encourage, empower and educate the women of color in her community to have the best pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Liza is a Birth, postpartum doula/educator and Lactation peer counselor in Northern Minnesota (Duluth). She decided this was her calling for life after having her own bundle and not being supported as she hoped. She really would have loved to have a doula and preferably someone who looked like her in the delivery room but two things 1 none of the doulas in my area looked like me and 2 none of the doulas took insurance so she needed to pay out of pocket. She has spent a large chunk of her life caring for friends and family during pregnancy and birth not knowing what a doula was. When she is not in the delivery room she is teaching, chasing behind her 2 year old son or pouring intention candles. She loves all things natural and holistic and loves learning about astrology. She works in her community as a young mom educator and works with Minnesota prison doula program. She hopes with this path in life to be able to encourage, empower and educate the women of color in her community to have the best pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Mary

I believe in empowering the mother to utilize the innate strength and wisdom within her.

I have a deep love for mothers and babies and the special bond that connects them.  Birth is a sacred space, and I am humbled each time I am invited into this space.  As a doula, I believe in the power of knowledge, strength, and connection. I can provide current and relevant information about the birthing process so that the parents can make informed decisions that work best for their family.  I believe in empowering the mother to utilize the innate strength and wisdom within her.  I believe in nurturing the energetic connection between the baby and parents.   I will hold space for your birth journey, whatever that looks like for you.

As a mother and grandmother, I am happiest surrounded by my beautiful family. After staying home with our six children and supporting them as they grew, I began my own journey when our last one left home. When I am not witnessing the profound changes in my clients or experiencing the miracle of birth, you can find me exploring the beautiful North Shore with Doug, my husband of 35 years. We love a good hike and often end our adventures on the shores of Lake Superior, searching for the elusive agate.

Tammy

I am a full spectrum doula and support families in all births.

I started as a birth doula in 2009 and have found my calling in empowering, educating, and supporting mothers/birthers/families during birth. Each birth is exciting, different and creates a new family. It is my great honor to serve our families on that life-changing day. I strive to help each woman/birther have the birth experience they desire. I especially love helping dad/partners get as involved as they are able to be!

I have attended hospital births, cesarean births, VBACs (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean) high risk and twin births. I am a full spectrum doula and support families in all births. My husband and I have one daughter, who is nearly an adult; having her has been the most amazing gift life has to offer. I have experienced pregnancy loss, and at 40-years-old I had a high-risk cesarean birth. I believe these experiences give me both compassion and insight for women/birthers having a difficult pregnancy or delivery. I had a difficult start with breast/chest feeding so I pumped breast milk for our daughter for 6 months. I love to encourage moms/birthers to provide breast milk by breast/chest feeding or pumping because it is simply the best milk, liquid gold, designed especially for your baby's needs

Tessa

Hello there, firstly, congratulations on being on this beautiful journey of motherhood! My name is Tessa, I am a Duluth native and a member of the Northern Cheyenne people. I am a mother to two sweet boys, 12 & 4. I also have two sweet forever babies in the sky. My knowledge with babies and pregnancies comes from experience and my own research with an emphasis on listening and tuning into our amazing bodies and understanding the physical, emotional and mental changes. As your doula I bring a warm, empathetic, and calming energy to our meetings and a strong support person by your side throughout your journey.
In my free time I enjoy beading, drawing, painting, connecting with nature and passing time with my loved ones. I have four years sobriety from alcohol and a huge factor in my recovery is just being the best me I can be for my children every day. I believe that motherhood is one of the greatest blessings in life as a woman. I mean, wow! Our bodies literally create life.. How amazing are we?
As a person of color who has faced adversities in life, I believe everyone deserves fair and equal treatment without judgment, no matter what, and I will always be an advocate for that. I want to help you to be able to reminisce on your journey and remember feeling empowered, strong, and proud of yourself and your choices. Having a baby can be scary,  filled with the unknown, and with so much knowledge out there it can be a lot for one person. But it truly takes a village and I’m here to help in any way that I can and am looking forward to navigating through this wonderful, beautiful chapter in your lives as we welcome your sweet pea to the world!

Theresa

My goal is to provide comfort, encouragement, education, and advocacy while helping families feel seen, heard, and supported.

I have been passionate about childbirth, motherhood, and supporting families for as long as I can remember. As a mother of five, my own birth and postpartum experiences have deeply shaped the way I support others through pregnancy, birth, and life with a new baby.

My work is rooted in advocacy, representation, and compassionate care. Growing up in Northern Minnesota, I witnessed the lack of diversity and inclusivity within healthcare, especially in birth and postpartum spaces, which inspired my commitment to creating safe and supportive environments for families of all backgrounds.

As a birth and postpartum doula, I support families through the challenges, emotions, and beauty of welcoming a new baby. I am especially passionate about breastfeeding support, postpartum wellness, and helping parents feel informed, empowered, and confident in their choices.

I believe every family deserves individualized care that meets their unique needs and experiences. My goal is to provide comfort, encouragement, education, and advocacy while helping families feel seen, heard, and supported.

Outside of birthwork, I also love photography, music, traveling, and making memories with my children.

Zomi

As a doula, my goal is to help each birthing person feel that their voice has been heard, that they have been supported, and their choices respected.

I have been passionate about childbirth for as long as I can remember. In college I studied healthcare administration and later earned an MBA with a focus on healthcare management, always with an eye towards critically evaluating the American healthcare system for opportunities to serve populations and communities more equitably.
Birthing people in the US experience poorer perinatal outcomes compared to other similar nations, and those of BIPOC origin are even more at risk. Research shows that doulas and midwives can center the voices of birthing people and support better healthcare outcomes. I want to be part of the change that levels the playing field and ensures birthing people are cared for and listened to. I completed DONA International childbirth and lactation training in 2022. I completed my Certified Perinatal Educator certification through the Commonsense Childbirth Institute in 2023. I see myself on a path of continuous learning to provide the best expertise and service possible, as a birth and postpartum doula.

I have had the privilege of birthing three inspiring humans with the support of nurse midwives, and with my third had the opportunity to break in the new-at-the time freestanding birth center in N. Charleston, SC. During my own pregnancies and births, I found that following my intuition and my body's instincts led me down the right path. I value the expertise that the modern medical system offers with respect to high risk intervention when needed. At the same time I look to a future in which we can match the level of intervention to the needs of the birthing person -- and their situation. As a doula, my goal is to help each birthing person feel that their voice has been heard, that they have been supported, and their choices respected.
