Ashley K.
What if I told you that there was someone who would support your birth choices, provide you evidence-based information, and teach you how to advocate for yourself and your baby all while comforting you physically, emotionally, mentally, and educationally? Hi, I'm Ashley and I'm that someone.
Birth rights are human rights and incredible things happen when a birthing person is treated with the care and compassion they deserve.
EVERYONE deserves to be educated, supported, and encouraged during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
It's more evident than ever that the world is full of barriers. One way I can do my part is to level the playing field and make birth education and support accessible, regardless of social stature, race, sexual preference/identity, or religion.
I am a Certified Birth Doula and a Postpartum Doula and a Lamaze-Certified Childbirth Educator. Additionally, I have the distinct privilege in working as the Doula Coordinator at Everyday Miracles!
Outside of birth work, I am a professional classical singer. I have had the unique opportunity to share my music all around the world, including Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Additionally, I sing all around the Twin Cities with several professional choral groups, as well as at The Basilica, St. Olaf, and Holy Cross. I am born and bred in Minneapolis. I live with my husband and our two beautiful babies. We are a goofy, multicultural, and close-knit family that get strange stares when people can't figure out why we don't all look alike. Sometimes, challenging the system is as easy as walking out the door!
We love to travel, dance, spend time at the lake, and try new food. Most importantly, we love to laugh!
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me and remember, you are capable of great things!
Ashwaq
Hello! My name is Ashwaq .I’m currently a full-time student at Augsburg University majoring in Biology. My ultimate goal is to be a support system and an advocate for mothers, along with encouraging them to express their wants and needs for their birth. Childbirth is an extremely beautiful thing and its a privilege to be given the chance to be apart of that journey. I’ve always been passionate about childbirth, mothers and children. I look forward to being apart of a journey in helping to reduce disparities in maternal child health. I also look forward to being apart of the doula community.
Carly
Hi my name is Carly and I’m a DONA trained birth doula and registered yoga teacher. I came to birth work through means of yoga, first through practice in mind-body awareness then by developing a fascination in what I think is the most incredible thing a body can do- to make and bring forth new life! Since the day I picked up the book that introduced me to what a doula is, the idea of being a doula followed me in everything I was doing and tugged at my gut. I have a naturally empathetic, calm, and advocating personality and knew intuitively that this was the path for me.
As a doula my main goal is to help people have better birth experiences. My bachelor’s degree in science and my studies in yoga come together to create a balance of an evidence-based approach with a dash of an eastern, holistic perspective. I have witnessed the unique power and strength that birthing people have, as well as the wonderful influence of having compassionate, non-judgmental support during the beautifully vulnerable time of labor and birth.
I am very excited not only in the existence of Everyday Miracles and their mission, but the fact that I can be a part of the team here, making an impact in the lives of families in this community. I firmly believe that the only way we succeed is together.
I live in Wisconsin but have equal love for Minnesota (yes, it’s possible)! I spend my free time outdoors, reading books at blindingly fast speeds, and volunteering for causes that support the environment or criminal justice system reform.
Claire
Hello! My name is Claire. I am a CAPPA certified doula serving the Twin Cities area. I currently live in the suburbs with my adorable sidekick/soulmate/dog Gerty and 2 geriatric cats. In addition to doula-ing, I work as a nanny 4 days a week. I live for summers and love to hike, camp, and visit the mountains.
My background is in disability services; I worked as a coordinator and manager supporting adults with disabilities for several years. During that time I discovered my passion in advocacy and supporting my community. Stuck at home in 2020, I realized it was time to make a big change. I needed to take my passion in a different direction and decided to become a doula. I have always had a deep interest in pregnancy, childbirth, and childhood development. If I knew what a doula was 10 years ago I would have started much sooner!
As your doula, I will provide you with unbiased & evidence-based emotional, educational, and physical support. I consider each birth I attend to be an honor and a privilege. Cheers!
Dahsoe
Hello my name is Dahsoe and I'm a trained doula and Karen translator. I'm passionate about helping others, especially those who speak Karen or come from Burma and Thailand.
I have been a medical translator for nine years and have helped with many deliveries and births. I love helping mothers and families through the birthing process and helping bring new lives into the world.
One day while being an interpreter in the hospital, someone called me a doula and now I can't believe I actually am one!
I live in St Paul with my two children and have many friends and family in the area. In my free time, I love to spend time outdoors hiking, biking, or cooking.
Emily L.
Hello! My name is Emily. My desire to be a doula began after serving a close friend in two of her births. I realized how important this position was to the mother and her family. As a doula, it is truly rewarding to encourage a woman through this emotional, physical and spiritual process. Watching a woman turn inward to focus on delivering their child and seeing them gain confidence in themselves, is beautiful.
As a DONA-certified birth doula, my role is to encourage and calm you when you might feel overwhelmed by labor. I am there to remind you that you can birth this little one, your body was made to do it! I get to stay by your side through the entire birth to assist you in whatever way you need.
When I’m not doulaing, I’m homeschooling our four great kids, cooking tasty food, taking trips with my hubby, biking around town, running to soccer games, or hanging out with sweet friends. I look forward to getting to know you and encouraging you on your amazing birth journey!
Emily K.
Hello! My name is Emily (she/her), and I’m a DONA-certified birth doula, birth photographer, and childbirth educator serving out of Robbinsdale, MN. I’ve always had a passion for education and justice. The birth of my daughter opened my eyes to the power and incredible transformation of birth on people and families, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to serving those families.
My goal as a doula is that my clients feel supported and confident during their entire pregnancy and childbirth, so they will start their journey into parenthood (or parents of additional children) in the best possible way. Every birth is as unique as the people who are involved, and I am honored and humbled every day to be a part of this amazing work.
When I’m not doula-ing, I’m typically at home with my 5 year old Aurora and 2 year old Thorin. I have a BS degree in Biology with minors in Sustainability Studies and Fisheries and Wildlife. My current obsessions include cooking vegetarian meals, watching anime, photography, and harassing our cats Scully and Mulder.

Hi, I'm Heather (also known by my Dari nickname, Hadia), and I'm a multi-cultural, multi-lingual doula. I grew up here in Minnesota and my native language is English, but I learned the Dari language while working in Afghanistan for a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for a number of years. I'm DONA International trained, and I seek to joyously, humbly, and trustfully serve English and Dari-speaking birthing families, as well as speakers of other languages.
