Our childbirth education classes are open to everyone, whether you're expecting your first baby or adding to your family.
Minnesota Medicaid Members
Most general childbirth education classes are available at no cost for families with verified Minnesota Medicaid after completing our Class Discount Request.
Private Insurance & Self-Pay
Anyone is welcome to register for our classes. Pricing is listed with each class.
Bring Your Support Person
Classes welcome one support person at no additional cost. We encourage you to bring the person who will be supporting you throughout your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum journey.

Class Information
Most general childbirth education workshops are 90 minutes to 2 hours in length.
Classes are designed for first-time parents as well as experienced parents looking for a refresher on a specific topic.
The majority of our classes are offered virtually through Google Meet, making it easy to participate from the comfort of your home. Some specialty classes are held in person. Please see the individual class description for details.
Private Insurance & Self-Pay: Most general childbirth education classes are $30 per class.
Minnesota Medicaid: Most general childbirth education classes are 100% covered for families with verified Minnesota Medicaid.
Specialty classes have separate pricing. Families with Minnesota Medicaid receive reduced-cost pricing for specialty classes. Please see the individual class description for pricing.

Learn the foundations of labor and birth, including the stages of labor, what to expect during the birth process, and how your body and baby work together during labor.
Who it's for
Expectant parents, ideally during the second or early third trimester.

Continue building your confidence by learning about comfort measures, pain management options, medical interventions, positioning, massage techniques, and informed decision-making during labor.

Families who have completed Labor & Birth Basics I or want a deeper understanding of labor.

This hands-on class teaches breathing techniques, movement, massage, positioning, and comfort measures to help you prepare for labor and birth.

Not sure where to start when coming up with your birth preferences? Join us as we go over all the different options you have surrounding your birth and creating your personalized birth guide. This class will help bring clarity to your doula meetings, or your personal process, as you go over scenarios, comfort measures, interventions and other important options for birth and immediate postpartum.

Designed for families hoping for a low-intervention birth, this class focuses on natural comfort measures, coping techniques, and labor preparation.

Practice mindfulness, breathing, relaxation, and movement techniques to help prepare your mind and body for labor.

A three-hour hands-on class focused on body balancing, movement, baby positioning, and comfort techniques to support labor.

Any pregnant people between 20 and 41 weeks of pregnancy
If you currently have a baby who is breech or transverse

If you are considering a VBAC, especially if your cesarean may have been due to baby’s position.

This class is for expectant parents only. Birth professionals are referred to the Spinning Babies Workshop*.
